Police Respond to Apparent Standoff at Pennsauken Home
Multiple police officers surrounded a home in Pennsauken, New Jersey, Wednesday morning as authorities responded to an apparent standoff involving a possible shooting suspect.
The incident was reported at approximately 9 a.m. on September 16 in the 4400 block of Bethel Avenue.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, officers were dispatched to the residence following a report of a possible shooting suspect who was believed to be barricaded inside the home.
Officials said the suspect appeared to be alone inside the residence.
A heavy police presence was reported in the neighborhood, with multiple officers seen surrounding the home. Some officers were observed with their weapons pointed toward the residence as they worked to resolve the situation.
Authorities were also seen using what appeared to be a robotic dog at the scene, reportedly as part of the police response.
Despite the ongoing activity, officials said there was no known threat to the community. Residents in the area were warned to expect increased police activity while officers continued their response.
